buying a cue

Do cue craft still do that funny joint where the threads have been stripped to a degree? I remember seeing these in the 90's, a brass joint with a dot on the top half and on the bottom, line them up slide the pin in and a half a turn locks the joint.

I think these turned up on Powerglide cues at one point as well. Like a quick release bayonet attachment thingy.

Yeah, can't say i liked them. I only seen them on cuecraft cues but it literally looked as though someone had taken a hacksaw to the threads to make it a quick lock of sorts.

I would like to have a feel before i buy but unfortunately i don't have the luxury, I live in Malta so that's not an option
i checked out the sherwood but it wil cost me nearly £250 excluding the case which is out of my budget tough.

Did you just want the cue and the case or did you need extensions too? What is your budget including postage to Malta? Do you know roughly what specs you want? Ash or maple? With all this info someone can give you a bit of advice on who to order from or they might even have something suitable for sale themselves

Why £250, they only cost £150 here. Shipping can't be that much surely?

I had a quick look on Parcelhero, i could send a one piece cue to Malta for £40, so maybe a touch more of you wanted it insured

Cue craft make some lovely cues and I know a few county players who swear by them one who has a custom CC. If you can, go to a shop stocking CC cues and get a feel for the whole range. Buying any cue over the internet or custom from a cue maker is very hit and miss, mostly miss! That's why so many cues are resold on here. Avoid anything made out of kiln-dried ash whether it be from Thailand/China or here. CC's aluminium case is still the best case in the world, you could run a car over it. Have a think about the Sherwood cue CC make, it's a winner, really beautiful hit, very lively, lovely big chamfer on the butt, nice in the hand, probably about £140 but well worth the money.

pretty sure it is all kiln dried where ever you buy it from.

I'm looking for a 3/4 cue 58 inches lenght, 19oz of weight and a 9.3mm tip. Budget not more then £200 including case (and preferebly a mini butt extension) 😄
