I played with rack cues for the first couple of years I was learning to play, then bought a new Burwat Champion cue. If I remember, it cost about 5 guineas and had it signed by Horace Lindrum when I played him round about 1949. Then bought a Ye Olde Ash cue about some time later and forget about when it was, think was about 7 guineas. Kept the Champion in another club sometime after, from where it walked and never saw it again. Wish I had still got them now. In those days, did not seem to be able to choose the specs, just seemed to have whatever they were in the Burwat price list and the club would send for them.

            2 piece Riley.....heavily laquered.
I rubbed of all the butt laquer, replaced the 10mm ferule with a 9mm......Still have it.....the joint has gone, covered with orange insulation tape......Yuk!
            Safety doesn't win frames.......Potting does!

This is a trick question; I DON'T KNOW. I had a two-piece center cue but I'm not sure of the manufacturer! The badge was just a little circle with a flower inside it. Does anybody know who makes these cues?

Riley Burwat hand spliced with a long silver badge and a wood-to-wood centre joint. It would be the early 80s. It was in the basement of a sports shop in Sheffield, now long gone. I looked at it every day in my lunch hour for about a month before I finally bought it even though I couldn't really afford it. Had it in a two piece Silver Fox case with blue velvet lining.

I used other peoples cues when I first started out and didn't buy a proper cue until I got better. My first cue was a John Parris Elite cue.

                        I have just ordered this

Or might this cue be the one to replace Jeremy?
