I'd use devcon epoxy or similar to glue the joint back in place. put plenty on and it will squeeze into the cracks. May need clamping overnight.

I forget the chemical name for the adhesive but over here it's called 'Chair Doctor' from Lee Valley Tools. It is thinner than water and leeches into cracks and not only bonds the wood but also swells it a bit. I've used it on cracks and it works with just one treatment.

I'n sure this type of adhesive is available in the UK but I don't know the brand name. Lee Valley says they won't ship internationally but if you go to their website you can get the chemical name and see what it's called there.

I had a go at fixing this today.

          First getting stuff ready.

I filled the joint with the "sticks like sh*t" stuff and pushed the brass joint in hard.

I then gave it a clean up and applied the clamps.

My fingers are crossed. Hopefully this will do as a second cue for my mate to play with.

I would have used stronger clamps. I have these clamps but I prefer G clamps or a vice but your solution should work. I love your glue, I misread it as 'stinks like s***'. lol All weather glue should mean you can play in the rain!

I would have used a jubilee clip with some protection on the inside of it to protect the cue.

Yes. It's a funny brand of glue but it's strong stuff that's for sure.

Yes Andy. I wish I had one but I don't. It's the best solution I could come up with.

Did you make a mark somewhere before gluing it randomly in ? to make sure the splices align when it's screwed back together ??

Have you thought about becoming a cue maker? I like your style, we need more of this robust approach. Anyway, I hope that white stuff doesn't shrink and crack and the brass joint separate from the wood hole? If it does, wack in some epoxy or plumbers epoxy (the two-part tube shaped stuff); Poundland! Keep the pics coming.

No way, £30 in postage there and back plus another £30 for the job, not worth it if the cue isn't valuable. Anyway, this is fun stuff. Wack some more glue in there. It can't hurt. Scrape any excess off, sand it a bit and oil it. Jobs a good un.

Do you think he has invalidated the guarantee? How much would it cost to send it back to China for a refund?
