If, if, the arrows/chevrons/grains doesn't match up, and the male end is firmly fixed into the wood hole and unmoveable (?), you can always use some rough emery paper to sand the female part of the joint down. By reducing the joint by a fraction, let's say 1/10th of 1mm, the rotation of the male end will eventually screw into place with everything lined up. I've done this to a couple of cues, where the grain didn't match up when they were new. It did afterwards! Time consuming, but it works.
