Aurora Cues

They've taken a slagging on here but when you see the pics and the finish it's hard not to want to buy an Aurora cue. I don't think there's a cue maker on the planet who can finish this well. Their oil finishing technique is time consuming but the results are fabulous. Their invisible jointed cues look amazing. At least in image, this looks like something above the standards of TW/MW/JP/TG/CJ, something I never thought would be possible and I've seen their cues. I have bought around 10 Aurora cues over the years, one was my playing cue for a year or so (a very nice 1pc) and the rest were for students or to trial. Although they are well made and well finished I wouldn't rate them above a TW, MW or DC or any of the other well known British cuemakers for that matter.

Personally I didn't have any problems with communicating with them or getting my orders on time. Pricing was pretty good and quality was very good too. However there have been some horror stories on here regarding cues not being received but then again you never hear both sides of the stories. It could be the customer constantly changing the specs or something similar, we just don't know.

I believe I paid around $750(CAN) - about 450quid for a 3/4-butt with 2 extensions and shipping. The odd time they would have a deal on where I could get a really good cue for around 350quid with extensions.

I didn't notice that their last post on FB was a year ago. Perhaps Aurora has gone under?

Haha, that's all the polishing they do. I know it doesn't last but I do like it from new. They do a very deep oil finish, they're crazy about oil full stop. The guide to oiling a cue or refinishing a cue with the oil method on their website is superb. You could always get your emery paper out JCR.

then someone commented it was a painted cue
i almost fainted!!!!!!!

can't seem to get any reply from aurora recently. have sent about 3 email in the past 3 months.... still waiting.

If you send a cuemaker an email enquiring about spending money there and they don't reply means you should immediately contact another cuemaker who wants your business.
It's a good sales pitch that to many people makes their cues look more desirable and ignoring customers is currently being used by another well known cuemaker who I won't mention.
