  • Looking for a cue store

    Hello there,
sorry if this is hidden somewhere else in the forum, I just can't find any information....
I'm looking to buy a new cue and really want to try it before buying (so no online purchase), but there isn't any store around me here in France.
I'm going to London for a few days this week and was wondering if I could find a store somewhere on my way....
I'll be going with my car, so it doesn't have to be IN London, but the closer will be the better
Any good adress to provide ?
    Thanks in advance !

Two of the best are GBL Cues and Martin Chesworth, both a considerable drive from London, but they have lots of stock and a table to try out cues. I have been to both and there is always a take your time, no hassle, no rush policy.

Drive in on osbourne or Parris who are in London, I'm sure they'll sort you out one. Don't go driving to craftsman or GReenbaize as they're miles away

Doubt Osborne will have many ready made cues to try out...

I think Osborne and Parris will only have their own cues, i.e. they wont have a range of other makes for sale.
            Up the TSF! :snooker:

Well I might give them a shot anyway, even though I'd rather have some choice indeed

Depends on your budget as well.

Thanks Neil. About 10 miles from Brighton w. Sussex. BN147JL Not vast stock but a facility to try before you buy which is a bit unique though I say it myself. I can be contacted by E.mail from website www.franksandellcuesport.co.uk. F.

I'm coming from Dover, but have a little time on my way, so it's not too far to give it a shot, I just sent Franck an E.mail ;-)
Any other advice is still welcome if that can't be done, and as markz pointed, I just realised I might have mentionned the budget aswell, which is around 300£ (or less of course). Based on what I've seen on John Parris website (couldn't find any information on Robert Osborne's one) I could need other ideas

Forget Parris and Osborne then ......your budget won't be enough .

£320 for he cheapest Parris Cue ...the Classic .

I really thought that I could find a kind of "generic" snooker shop in the english capital
The kind of shop like in this link : http://www.thurston.co.uk/Pages/Article.aspx?id=23
which is what I get when I search a snooker shop in London on google, but appears to be in Liverpool

Southend is a bit out of London but I believe "Cue Doctor" has a store with many cues you can try before.
Frank is a good option though, you will have fun there
