Are stamford series1 cues the No1 cue to have now?

Ive had many cues over the years, some cheap and some expensive and our of all of them Stamford Series 1 cues are flawless.
Even though you pay quite a bit of cash for them and wait a while too I think they are worth every penny.
The craftsmanship and playability of these cues are second to none. I wonder if other people share this view now as they seem to be fast becoming the cue of choice for the serious player????????????

My pal had one which he swapped for a Parris a while back and in all honesty it played just like any other cue TBH not better or worse.

I know it is a matter of personal preference and I totally respect that, but since from the general opinion on the forum, MW cues are just as good as any other top cue maker (not taking into account any Thai makers), so for me personally, I would rather get a cue from Mike within a month or two instead of having to wait months or even years to get a cue from JP, Stamford, etc.

However, like I said before, I understand the wish or desire to get a cue from a certain cue maker, I just don't see myself having the patience to wait that long if I can get something just as good in much less time, and apparently, for a little cheaper as well.

Once you get past a certain quality of materials and construction, which most of the well known names should be capable of, the maker of the cue becomes irrelevant. It's all down to how the cue plays for you.

To be honest they are still relatively an unknown in the cue world and you very rarely hear of people buying them. I guess the price has put some off and also the fact that you don't see them talked up much on this site.

I have heard they are good cues and having Selby and Ding as users is obviously a big draw. However I think the fact they don't have a good website with any prices and the lack of interest on here I think most members with that kind of money will be spending it elsewhere.

I don't have a series one Stamford I just have the series two and can honestly say it just plays as well as any other I have owned I wouldn't say they are any better than any other choice of cue maker but I can't fault them in any way.

£1500 if you buy it off fedia on EBay if not as Matt said series 1 starts at £642 up £132 from £510 for a series 1 this time last year.

I have to admit despite being a member on here for several years, Although I have heard of Stamford Cues I know nothing at all about them. Who is the guy that makes them?

How have they got such a reputation that they can command prices to match those of better known cue makers?

Must admit I feel the same way about why the likes of Dave Coutts can charge JP ultimate prices when in theory he's a bit of a nobody on the circuit so to speak.
