Stamford prices seem to have gone a bit crazy lately. Rightly or wrongly, I think only Parris can command high ticket prices across the board due to his reputation.

If they've got Ding and Selby to use and advocate their cues that's still two top 8 players more than a lot of cue makers put together, Parris aside. So they have to be considered serious cuz Ding is no dummy, he's particular about his kit, e.g. his preference for Hainsworth Precision cloths etc. Selby is close by but he's no mug. He's been offered a JP no doubt, as Ding probably has. Logically, if you've been offered the best cue out there for free, why would you choose to buy a Stamford, unless it was really good? Now I know a lot of pundits on here will sake MW, TW, RC are the best but I'll say it again (and this is not a wind-up!), when a pro chooses a cue, that's when I've got to start thinking about how good it is. I would only choose the best if I was a pro because tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of pounds could be on the line. 1% is all you need sometimes and if that 1% is in the cue, buy it! This is for sure, pro players are switched on, they ain't gonna use anything that ain't pukka. J6 knows what I mean. So Stamford, yeah, up there. Now Higgins bought some TWs but I think he's ditched them now, otherwise I'd place TW up there as well. Personally, I'm yet to play with a Stamford so it's a tricky one compared to all the other cues I've held. Maybe an owner can come forward and enlighten us all with a comparison to JP etc. Actually, didn't an owner make a comparison?

Anyway, a shame that they've inflated their prices but even £600 ain't huge money for a top cue, it'd be the bottom line for a JPU + some.

Need luck on any cue, even a cheap cue, lots of variation in shafts even though cue makers try and buy the best boards and listen to them for the correct resonance.

Yeh I'm really tall so thought I could save my self some time by going stamford rather than buying a ultimate and waiting 2 years . but someone has told me I may as well buy a parris off the rack and extend it because at 61.5 " that's how they do it anyway
