Your cred is now shot to pieces. Inferior in every respect. I know someone who has a secret stash of air dried fences, 40 years old I believe, no clunk guaranteed. He used to make all the fences himself but now employs teenagers with three days training on a virtual reality bench plane.

Interesting to see that the cues in question also have the badges removed, something which a few cue makers took offence too IIRC when this topic took place a few months back. Ton praram now has 2 top 32 players using his cues, Ryan Day and Ding and I know that he has made cues for a number of other pros too, including Maguire and Ant McGill.

I think he is going to be a very big name if Ding finds his form again with this cue as word will get round in China and boom his order book will be full for 18 months. Also Jack is a player himself so I think his knowledge will probably give players more confidence to trust him knowing that he plays in comps regularly.

Ah now I did know the answer to this - but can't remember now!! I know he favors a ridiculously stiff shaft - which can be difficult for makers to source. But yeah I think that, combined with the tip and butt sizes, balance point and particular taper that he likes. All make it very difficult.
I know he got 7 cues made by JP, and dismissed all of them as "rubbish"!! That is when he went to Stamford and they did one that he liked straight away. Pot luck with him maybe (no pun intended!!).

His spec isn't too much out of the ordinary, definitely nothing "difficult" about it

Well I did get that from Paul at Stamford to be fair! But in all honesty its all Greek to me!

I assume he meant that it was a challenge to make a cue to those specs which still played really well. I guess anyone who knows what they're doing can make a cue to almost any spec within reason. But isn't the difficulty in matching the specs but still creating something with outstanding playing characteristics?

I think he asked them to be made with no badge
As i think i seen on facebook he asked another cue maker to make one without a badge but he refused

I think that was Dave Coutts who told Ding that his badges are flush and wont be noticable by the player (the supposed problem)

I thought it was just because Ding was being an arse not wanting to let people know who made his cue, i wouldn't make one for him either

Talking about Mr Trevor white I wonder if Ding did get in contact with Him how would he treat Ding differently, now I don't know Trevor but I would wage a bet by his posts on here he wouldn't treat any pro any differently to us on here, I could be wrong though
