I do like the cue, it's really good but my mate has a parris that I really like that he's selling so I might buy it off him if this one sells.

I'm nowhere near a cue expert and probably know less than a lot of people here but I highly doubt john parris would have any affiliation with any other cue maker, there would be no need to have parts made elsewhere.

I believe Parris has, for example I believe Dave Coutts made the highly decorative panels for the Limited edition cues.

depends on how you think about it, ie the amount of work 'theoretically' outsourced dictates this doesn't it?

If folk want to say that Parris has shafts brought in ready made, they should say so. Personally, I don't believe he does. I know, the lack of square end will be used as evidence of some Thai connection by some on here. But I simply think this is how the cues are intentionally made (and poorly so IMO) by John's staff. JP doesn't need to make another cue in his life, he's got loadsa lolly. To risk his reputation on a few dodgy Thai shafts to make some more dosh, I don't believe he'd do that, that would be crazy risk for so little reward compared to his pile. He's well aware of his legendary status and that status is very valuable to a decent bloke like the bear. If JP says his staff and he make the cues, someone had better provide some evidence for me to believe otherwise and I'm not talking fishwives' tales.

IIRC ADR mentioned they were UK-based.

I'm 100% with you on this, I don't believe john would have shafts made by someone else at all

Ive said it once mb so i will say it again,if you know what to look for there is evidence of machinery involvment in the production of the shaft whether by jp or others,if you dont think so thats fine by me.
