Cue Weights

Tonight I steamed off the hand made splices of a very damaged old riley badged cue (15oz), I will re-splice it at a later date. It got me thinking about the various weights and weight positions found under old cues.

Obviously this cue doesn't have any weights at all.

Does anyone have any pics of cues they have removed the splices on and what it revealed?

I also noticed a diagonal line under one of the splices (see pic), anyone know what that was for?

I'm sure other pics would create a fair bit of debate.

I take that back, the diagonal line is at different positions and on all four of the sides.
