    BEEN EXPERIMENTING ON A FINISH TO A CUE BUTT. THE FINISH I USED WAS CALLED "TRU OIL" I HAVE TO SAY ITS SUPERB! THE FINISH LOOKS WET BUT IS SILKY SMOOTH YET DOES NOT SLIDE AROUND IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND.

          This is the link to it mate!
          The process is to sand cue down then apply 1 coat, wait for it to dry then put another coat on! wait till dry then another! again wait for it to dry then knock back with 00000 grade wire wool! keep doing it until about 5 coats is applied. After the 5th coat rub down a final time and buff with 8000 grade micro mesh paper until the desired sheen is obtained. Not to be used on the shaft!!!!

            Les just a question but why wait all that time for a cue and pay all that money only for it to not be right when you get it, surely the obvious thing would've been telling the cue maker how you like the finish no

                    With you on that one, I'm never happy with the finish of a cue unless I've done it myself, just a personal preference thing, more the feel than the look. Keep meaning to try this stuff, does it have a strong smell to it?

                          It's why I don't like this type of finish. They seem to slip much less smoothly over the bridge hand.
