Just had a word with Dave smith, the true stroke was a peradon&Fletcher in the 70s,he believes they were doing laminated cues in early 1910 which were a split cane type.

It is for a pool cue, the laminated. Best value snooker laminated Peradon! But feel is not as good as ash more like maple. Good break cue but for snooker? Mais Non!

Laminate shafts don't interest me at all, however if I wanted some I could buy them in premade including an ebony butt for less than £200 so for a cuemaker in the UK to make them from scratch and charge £800+ Is very very acceptable in my eyes.

When I said the shaft was my brain child I meant the use of walnut in between the maple to give a look similar to what is considered ultimate ash , I was the first to do this but laminated shafts have been around for a long while. Peradon laminated maple and walnut shaft was about 10 months after I made my first one and put on my old website .
From what I've been told about predator shaft design it was first patented in the early 1900s but the machinery was not about at the time to make the shafts , the patent ran out and years later predator came across the design and patented it themselves, now how true this is I don't know but I tend to believe who told me this .

I see butters has stuck another laminated cue on tonight and it looks like people have had enough of wasting their time bidding on his cues, might just well bite him in the ass in the future

Always a risky strategy ending every single sale, you should let a few go the distance

Yeah I know of a few cases where a friend said they were prepared to pay "whatever it cost" to get the cue. But then the auction was ended early.
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                              I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

I don't understand the problem people have with buying from here. My experience with the seller, is that he is straightforward and helpful. If you have a problem, then ask. I won an auction for one of his cues, and subsequently went on to buy three others. You're not going to a shop with Mr. butters. He seems to sell what he has finished with, to people who really want them, at reasonable prices that he is happy with. What his criteria for selling and how his cues are badged are, I have absolutely no idea, but he was very helpful with me purchasing some cues to try with broad specs that suited me.

I absolutely guarantee that when buying a Butters cue from source it will be almost impossible to buy a better british hand made cue for less. What do you want him to do, beg you to buy one?
