Hi All, I started playing again last September after 20+ years in the wilderness (played once a year for an hour). Anyway I purchased a cheap 2-piece cue 5 years ago as I was only knocking the balls around once in a blue moon. Now I am more serious about the game and currently playing 4-5 times a week I am thinking about getting a new cue. Even though I am playing really well with this cue, I feel like I am missing out on the extras such as the screw on small extension and main extension and being a short person I am stretching a lot. Some one suggested getting a thread put in the bottom of the cue and buying the extensions but I like the cue and weight so much that if I need to revert back to it I would prefer to have it in its current state.
So my question is how do I get a replica cue in terms of length, tip size and weight but as a 3/4 cue? When I pick up other players 3/4 cues I find the weight distribution different, is this common or just my imagination? This may be a silly question but how do you weigh a cue, would kitchen or bathroom scales suffice?
I notice a lot of people buy second hand cues off the web, but surely you need to try them first? Sorry if these are stupid questions.
