  • Most Expensive Cues

I was wondering what the most expensive cues would be out there, new and vintage. It would be interesting to know the most cue makers charge for their best cues and what the star cues are of the vintage world!

As far as the most expensive I think the Americans might have everyone beat (for pool cues anyway). I forget the name of the type of cue, perhaps Balabushka? I've heard somewhere that the really good ones can go for up to $25,000 or more.

Are Joe Davis 101 cues in the same league ? I know the record only lasted from November to December 1930.

Seen p-e-r-a-d-o-n made some, but did Riley do a tombstone 101 also ?

Nah Davis 101 wouldn't be a rare one, not to sure if Riley done a 101 but they did do a lindrum tombstone which is probably as rare as elvis being seen alive again

Some American pool cues can run close to $100,000. And even amongst ordinary players, $5k is far from uncommon.

              Only in America
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

101 is a very very rare cue.

That's what I thought. ebay seems to show you selling one with a finishing bid of £118 !

Did you stop the auction early ?

On some collector's pages, they talk about only having seen 2 in the flesh. .

has anyone got any pictures of this '101' cue?

I'm getting quite intrigued with this different badge thing on old cues... I'm assuming that each of these badge cues were released when a player made a break, so if the player beat that break soon after a the preceding badge was release it would make it rarer as there'd only be a short run on that badge?

That's why the 101 is rare. It was only his record break for 1 month.

No he didn't finish it early, it was ADR's guess the finishing price which I won when I said it won't get over £185 of which it didn't. too many people say too many cues are rare just because they and their pals ain't seen many, a man around 10 years ago maybe longer called old will used to have so much knowledge about old cues and had a collection to boot too with cues I ain't seen for sale since

What would the Davis 96 and 980 go for?

Depends who owns them and how greedy they want to be, more then likely collectors will have these and won't sell and will probably put a stupid price on them anyhow, I did hear a rumour that tonymicra off eBay as the pair and he wants in the region of £80,000 each.
