Was the sapele used just for the butt or sapele for the whole cue? I know how ambitious you are having followed your Jawes thread!

I find myself at the moment looking at people's furniture thinking hmmmm I wonder if...........

Used it many times for lower splices and it turns out lovely. A lot of guitar makers use it.

I think i'll give this a go soon, just cutting that sapele bar up as we speak!
