Advice On Parris Ultimate

Hi guys looking to aquire a plain black ebony spliced parris ultimate snooker spec ,despite the stick they get on the forums always wanted one any advice on how much i should pay and what is the maximum I should pay.Also if anyone has any other advice would be great to read your comments.

no one can tell you what the maximum you should pay - that depends on what you can afford....

But, you're looking at a grand or more for one. IMHO you're wasting your money if you're buying one purely for having 'Parris Ultimate' on a badge. My advice dont buy one for the sake of getting one. If you find that the cue of your dreams is one, then buy it. But honestly save your cash... only plus side is that they do keep their value (generally increase over time)

Well I have owned a few - some good some great and some not so.

I have had better cues lower down the range - had a old ambassador and a special that where both better than most of my ultimate's for example but people these days are obsessed with badges and if it makes them feel good that ok too.
Personally I like a cue to have a certain feel a 8 out of ten feel to the stiffness - and have seen this in a few of his cues and others.

That said best cue I ever owned was a JP Ultimate - splicing was a bit off mind but hey who cares about that and I think if you get a good one you are laughing - easier said than done finding it though. Price has gone too high and waiting time is ridiculous on all his ranges. Generally you never loose much if anything if you buy a nice one from him though - think of it like saving up.

I would say an ultimate in good condition would be worth a grand (for cue only)and if it's what you have always wanted, good for you, we'll be a long time dead!
I'll make a wild guess and predict your thread (like most on here) will be dragged off topic by some "know all f*** alls" giving you some unwanted advice on why not to buy one!!

I don't think saving money is on your mind if you want an jpu. Just go for it and perhaps ask ADR on here of he has any

JP ultimates are in a word a true price of what someone who's achieved as much as he has through the years whether they are good playing cues or bad playing cues, for me he's charging the right price IMO.
I personally wouldn't pot more balls and miss less shots just because I'm using an ultimate it don't work like that.
What gets my goat up is these up and coming cue makers who haven't had the worldwide attention as JP has had think they have the right to charge near on ultimate money.

Could be worse I s'pose... you could pay a few 100 for one of J6's rack cues after he's fitted a new ferrule and a sh*t load of linseed. Now... where's that pile of old rope I have somewhere.

exactly, get a shed up creep around the forum and make as many friends as you can in a short time, stick photos up of your progress, charge £500 for a cue, then when mr mok from China comes calling deactivate your snooker forum account because you don't need them anymore and if anyone sends you a message asking for a cue tell them to shove it.
