Damaged Splice Suggestions

Bought a bent, pretty beaten up old horace lindrum cue which had many dings.

Cue splice has some of the ebony missing and I would like to fill it.

Any suggestions on the best way to do this without re- splicing (it's a side splice).

Thought about trying to build up ebony dust and mixing it with a glue.

Any thoughts as I'd like finish it myself?

Does it sand to a nice smooth finish?

Ebony dust and superglue is what I would do and then a careful sand down.

Any glue really but a small drop of resin dye turns it black,works with any filler as well,ebay

Just ordered some Milliput (black). Reviews are good so can't wait to try it and see what it's like when I re-oil.

The milliput finish looks worse in the picture than it does in reality. It was easy to mix in the hand and fill the main gap in the ebony and the split down the splice.

It feels great in the hand and although it took a lot longer to dry than the instructions suggested it sanded easily and I liked the finish.

Would certainly try it again.
