I just received some new Buffalo diamond plus tips and bought I would put one on straight away. When removing my tip I noticed the ferrule was thicker on one side more than the other. Can this cause any kind of issues when cueing or contact with the cue ball. I will post a picture.

Looks like a very thick ferrule to start with, that will produce more throw on it's own.
Not sure about the uneven thickness and whether that will make it worse; would have thought so but I'm sure some other guys will come in.

Ferrule not even
some people use the ferrule sanding tool where a sanding disc is mounted perpendicular to the ferrule top face. this is then rotated the flatten the ferrule and tenon.
but as mentioned if you are experienced and a steady hand you can you a file (not too rough grade)

Ferrule not even
i have the rapid tip thing and have used a file...thing is, this ferrule is really rounded at the edges, so needs somehing a little more industrial...what would a cue repairer actually do that's different to whhat i do? use a lathe?
To be clear, this is not to take the gunk off the ferrule, rather, to remove some brass. I've found using a file creates as many problems as it solves...Last edited by Hello, Mr Big Shot; 28 October 2015, 07:27 AM.
