  • Peradon Vintage "Strange" Cue

    Hi Guys

I have come across an odd cue.

I think I have an unusual cue....I thought I would consult the guru's......it's a Peradon "Victorian" One piece ash.....any ideas?

    Thanks, Matt

in what way is it "strange"?
the Victorian was in the Peradon range for many years, one of their mid-range cues IIRC

ebony with kingwood splice I think

Strange in that I can not find it on the internet. There are lots of Peradon cues but no "Victorian"? It is a beauty and I am looking to sell it to a good home but have no idea of its value....

Is it just me, or do other people worry about phrases like "it's remarkably straight, given it's age". No, it's straight, or it's not.

tetricky, almost clever for someone north of Birmingham but just in case you didn't study Maths or Physics at a reasonably high level, there is no such thing as straight in real life. Everything has a slight kink, curvature, bend, whatever.........even one second after it's made. So I am guessing pieces of wood (spliced together) could be forgiven for being remarkably straight after 80 years of use.

Sure but we are not talking relativity. If were talking a about a cue it's bent or straight (within reasonable limits). If a cue is relatively straight for its age, its bent. The question is how old, and how bent per annum are you defining as not too bad?

For your reference it was Physics to postgraduate level, Beyond study into research, actually.
