Not sure, but wasn't that lead in the video? Find it with a metal detector like the ones you use for power cables?

sorry but I don't see any metal at all in the video, or how the splice was shaved down, or the hole made or new weight added, and I'm sure you can use those power cable detectors to find the old weight.
this video shows how to resplicing a splice

Wasn't sure if that was lead shot shaved down (grey bits) in the rectangle by the hole (may be wrong)?

The video does seem to be about re-splicing after re-weighting/balancing as Andy says at the start of the video (without the actual re-weighting / balancing).

Andy says he has scooped a bit out of the splice and the shape of it in the video looks like he probably used a shaver (scraper), possibly like this one?

possible the old weight is laying in the shavings "above" the cue on the work bench, but not clear

and yes I know how the splice may have been shaved down (I still have my granddad's spoke shave in the old tool box ) but the video does not show this part of the process, finding, removing the old weight, - that is what I expected to see from the title of the video/post and what I was hoping to see

                        no problem

Yeah, can't disagree. It would be nice to see a little more on weighting / re-weighting. Still enjoy Andy's videos.

i took it that reweighting was adding a bit of weight to the cues original balance point
