yes, stupree did earlier this year; but stu has not been on TSF for a while.
I am sure there are others who do.
A friend bought one of Stu's cues, and it is a lovely cue.

I bought one this time last year. Jack was great to deal with. Very good at communicating. Got EXACTLY what I asked for in terms of spec. Tip size, balance, taper etc were all spot on.

I sent stupree a msg. But no reply, I've done some research and they look very decent cues for the money. Just wanted to know peoples experience ordering direct. ie. Was the spec spot on to what you ordered, the quality, and how much extra you have to pay on top like import tax.

not sure about the import ta, but from what he said at the time, I believe everything came as ordered.

isn't Ton Praram on TSF? as "Jack something"?

Yeah Jack P is the guy. Worth having a look at his website. As we all know you get what you pay for. Jack makes cues at various grades so quality of shaft will vary. Depends what your after. i went for something mid-range. Think it was described as Series II. Single splice of Maccasser Ebony. Looks very nice. To answer your question about tax I can't remember exactly but I think I paid about £20 with carriage being about £40.

Compared to what I'm used to it was a bit "whippy". Takes a bit of getting used to. In the balls is fine but long blues is a bit of a problem for me. Might be my eyes of course lol. My 30 year old Maple cue is quite stiff. Always better to try before you buy IMO. For me cost wouldn't be a big factor. There's loads of us on here on the Forum who have "wasted" thousands buying off the Internet and ending up with a beautiful cue which doesn't quite suit. Don't let me put you off though as with a bit of serious practice you can get used to most cues.

I know what you mean, I bought a Ton 3/4 ash cue ages ago which had a very slim butt 28.5mm I think, and that was a bit whippy.

However, the 2 cues I have available are superb players, solid well balanced shafts with a super smooth TW like finish. A dream to play with !!
