Is it possible to use mother of pearl or abalone to make a splice on a cue? I know most of it would be hidden and it seems a bit of a waste, but I think it would make a gorgeous cue.

I'm sure some of the American pool cues have mother of pearl as decoration but as a splice I'm not sure. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

most mother of pearl we have seen are on the watch, they are usually used for a dial, it could be used as a thin veneer i think, because you can find a mother of pearl biger than 30mm*250mm, but you can not find one that thick for a normal splice, at least 12mm thick is necesary for the splice, and the problem is, will you pay that money on a thin veneer more than a cue?

Might be viable as banding, so it would look like a thin veneer but is just a thin strip round a splice, better cost wise as well. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
