  • Tiger Cues Warrington Review

    Hi Guys

New to the forum found it a few months back when I was researching for a new cue, obviously found a thread previously where a few people had mentioned a new cue maker and in the end I decided to try him out my last couple of cues where from amazon / ebay (Jian Ying cues) and to be honest didn't really take to them..)

Ordered a Hydra 58" 19.5oz 3/4 Ash cue from tiger cues
Have to say the whole experience was really good, the boy who runs it Darryl was very helpful and his comms throughout the process where excellent,
The cue arrived very well packaged with the tip of my choice on (buffalo blue diamond)
right away I was very happy with it and it plays great I mainly play pool but knocked in a half century with it at snooker (my first in a long time so I was very happy with how I played with it) the cue feels very nicely balanced and all I can say is if your in the market for a cue and obviously not wanting to spend too much you should give them a try, as well as being impressed with the quality as I say Darryl's service has been first class.

    Cheers
    Colin

Any pics Colin, nice write up, I like to try quite a few low end cues( not the right term but you know what I mean) for a few reasons, still looking for my ideal specs and to see what you get for your money down the cheaper end.

Hi Mate, ill get some pics uploaded on Wednesday my cue is in the club just now, the thing I liked was that you can specify the weight you want the length you want etc.. should have said I prefer a 9.5" tip as I say play a bit of snooker but mainly pool and don't like anything too small find 9.5 just about right for both games..
My pal has a John Paris cue which was that weight and height so just asked for the same. I liked the splicing in the hydra cue so went for that, he has quite a few different designs on the website. Another boy from my club ordered the rocket cue and I like the design but he went for a lighter cue at 17oz which suits him but I found it a little light.. but yeah ill deffo get some pics up on the thread on Wednesday.

oil finish? no idea mate I'm sure they will be able to answer though, yes the website is http://www.tiger-leisure.com/ this is a link to the different cues http://www.tiger-leisure.com/our-cues/ as I say I went for hydra but you can get them made to your own preference in terms of tip size weight length etc.. I have no connection with them at all lol I know it sounds like a sales pitch I'm just generally really happy with the product and the service ..

Had a look at some of the cues, look oil finished to me but I'm no expert, I wonder where they are made as I don't think they are Thai or Chinese as they tend to go for the spirolock base joint but again I could be wrong.

I have just looked at the website and the cues look very nice and not a lot of money. What I really liked was the Youth Cues section. I've not seen that on any other cue making website before.

The designs look like typical Chinese cues to me and I'd say I'm 80% sure they are from that region. Maybe the cues come without a base joint fitted and they do their own, or maybe they supply the joints they want fitted to the manufacturer. They do look decent cues for the money though and anyone looking for a good cue to start out with I think you'd be hard pushed to find better.

I'd doubt there is any, probably just a different badge on the butt.

Depends on what range of grand cue, if they are the same as the ones Grand want £250 pound for they are a bargain.
