I've read a few things regarding the weights coming loose inside and rattling around?

generally that's only on very cheap poorly made cues.

Obviously if you abuse a cue it would be possible to dislodge the weight, but in the normal course of using a cue it shouldn't ever be an issue.

I don't want to buy a weighted cue as it'll be a source of problems down the line, so just trying to buy smart now?
You not ordered yet DM? ADR knows more about cues than anyone on here, don't worry about weights just buy a cue to your spec and get playing.

What are your specs? Plenty members on here always got cues for sale at reasonable prices.

Gonna buy new this time, always wanted to treat myself to a decent new cue and now I have the chance, but specs I'm looking for are approx 9.5mm, 58"+, 18oz+, 30mm, not sure on balance point as I have no real frame of reference, was a long time ago I last played, also considering 3/4 vs 1pc?

You might want to have a look at the cue J6 has made and mentioned, he makes really good cues and tests them to make sure they play well and he's a good player as well. If they don't play well, they don't get sold. Not many cue makers will do this.

                          Hi,

                          Sounds interesting, any pics, prices?

As a noob around these parts, what name are your cues sold under, or is it a serious hobby type thing?
