Seen this one, looks ace and the right specs I'm looking for: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WOODS-1-Pi...QAAOSwJkJWjcRk
I don't know if they are any good but if it's the right spec and you like the look of it then why not. I've never owned one so can't give an honest opinion of one but they look nice cues.

You will see so many threads on here where people say that top cue makers will be using Thai shafts, so what's the difference between a Woods cue costing £150 and a Parris cue costing £450? Not a lot other than the name which allows him to charge 3 times more.

Have a punt on the Woods mate, why not.

This looks good for the same price, sans case of course?

Nice looking cue. I'm guessing it will be of the same standard as the others. It's a tough decision as there are so many cues to chose from. I think your looking in the right place though. Get a whole package for around the £160 mark to your spec and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

In fact the closer I look at that mastercue the more I like it - look at the arrows on that - would be impressed if you could find a nicer looking cue under £300 imho.

Some are! - the ones at £75 are very good value for money but personally I would take the mastercue craftsman have!

The splicing and finish look great on that Mastercraft cue, the shafts look nice and clean with some nice chevrons. I think you have a winner Danger!

You might want to consider the Grand Emperor cues. Top of the range Grands (which is all about shaft selection and how they play after manufacture). I have two, and they're nice cues. One is the preferred cue of someone I play with, and although I prefer a butters, my snakewood Emperor would not be a disappointment to me if I had to use that.

Check that seller, there are different options, with different packages (from cue only to full set of extensions and case). You can buy as much or as little as you want. I would say that they are similar to the Woods, but a little less well known. The Grands that I have I feel play a bit better than the Woods I have, but it's not a statistically significant sample.

Worth considering if they have a pattern that appeals to you. I tend to sand and re-finish mine with an oil finish...but i do actually know people who are perfectly happy with them how they are. They bear a lot of superficial similarities to tiger cues, and a number of other less well known manufacturers....you could almost imagine that they all come out of the same factory.....but generally my Grands have outperformed my expectations.

I have a few of these - with different badges, they are ok for the money but not in the same class of build quality as a master cue.

No for real If you bought it through Ebay it would cost him £20 so you are splitting the savings! - He might not like me giving that advice mind!
