  • Missing cue and case, please keep your eyes peeled for me !!

Long story but sold a cue + case to an overseas buyer, Parcelmonkey and DPD courier involved, both absolutely useless !
Was picked 2 weeks ago today nothing but trouble since, rough handling caused customs forms to become missing, monkey people emailed to DPD twice to re-attach, but now saying they cannot locate it !
Thing is i offered to put a lower value on for buyer to save him on the import fees, and i warned him i then can only insure it for the lower value, he now wants FULL refund !! sold for £650, insured for £200 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See link below to the cue and case, last seen at Birmingham airport area, please keep an eye out for it, obviously i'm hoping it will still be found and not pinched by some low life thieving scum

Always a risk sending things with a lower insurance price, some couriers these days would lose a friggin Elephant never mind a fairly large cue and case package.

I hope you get lucky and get it back personally I would never take a lower insurance price.

probably sold down the tea leafs local club for a quick ton or two... sadly a lot of folk wont have a conscious, if they see a Parris up for a couple of hundred notes.

it'll reappear somewhere down the line

Already tried that but he paid by paypal and already put in a claim, buyer normally always wins

the buyer is entitled to the price he paid back. the purchasing of any insurance is unrelated to the purchase of the cue. Unless stated in the listing - ie "cue for sale WITH postal insurance of x amount"

if he bought it on ebay and paid via PayPal and no dodgy ending it early shenanigans, JRC will find £650 taken from his PayPal account. He wont have much say in the matter, they'll just take it and deposit the buyers £650 back in the buyers account. Ebay / PayPal will ALWAYS side with the buyer.

It's JRC's responsibility to ensure that the cue arrives safe and well with the buyer, not the buyers responsibility

I sold it through Facebook selling site, but through PayPal.
It's quite common when buying or selling overseas to offer lower stated value to keep import fees to a minimum as they can soon mount up. BUT you can't have a low declared value and a high insurance value it just isn't possible!
Buyer was happy to accept that....Until things go wrong ehh

                        Lesson (expensive one) learnt.
Hopefully will still be found, but definitely the last time I sell overseas, just can't trust people no more to do their jobs properly/ keep their side of the agreement.
To make thing's worse it wasn't even my cue, was just helping a friend out, another lesson learnt ☺

Expensive lesson, buyer always knows they have protection through PayPal, only way to balance the scales is insist on gift payment, or ask them to arrange the courier, that way once it's left your hands it's there responsibility.
No one is listening until you make a mistake!

No its not. Paypal gifts are reversable without any real reason, entered wrong amount will do.
