  • 1 piece cues

A good 1 piece cue gives u a better feel than any custom made jointed cue.
Eight of the top ten players in the world play with a 1 piece cue-
    john higgins
    ronnie o sullivan
    peter ebdon
    shaun murphy
    graeme dott
    stephen macguire
    mark selby
    ding jun hui
it is difficult to carry but if u are serious enough for the game i dont think that should be a problem.
    what's ur say guys?

I have one can be a pain but not much more than a 3/4!
Biggest issue was when buying a car and realised I couldn't get a 2 seater.
1/2 cues are easiest by a mile to carry but 1 piece seems to be become the most popular again on merit.

If u ask any good cuemaker the only purpose of putting joint into the cue is to make it easy for carrying and maintanence as carrying a 1piece is a lot of pain and they require a lot more care than jointed cues. For the cuemaker while making jointed cues its basically crisis management as far as feel of the cue is concerned.A good cuemaker can minimize the feel loss factor but still it can't be compared to a 1 piece cue.

I'd like to hear more about this, it's a very interesting subject.
I've never played with a decent one piece cue, so the more opinions the better.

done well there should be no difference in the playability of the cues - jointed cues are easier to transport.

Done well, there 'IS' no difference in the playability of the two options.

Don't get me wrong guys I am not against 3/4 cues,I might be wrong but thats what I feel and I have observed over the past 15 years of following this game.

I have rarely played with a 3/4 cue I've liked.
I agree that done well there should be no difference I can spot, but still I think that 1 piece cue are generally better.
I have played for years with a two piece and found it fine but I still say that there is something about a 1 piece cue.
Lots of people say you get better feel so there must be something in it.
My Dad has been known to say "if the bloke who made it thought it was any good he wouldn't have sawed it in half"

It's not a common view it's fact but there's only ever been one guy who could feell the difference through 50 odd inches of wood with or without a brass joint and he'd got a magic touch.
One of his other tricks was to feed thousands a serving of fish n chips out of a moses basket, they even wrote a book about him that became a best seller.
