Slightly sticky/sqeaky finish on a new cue

I have a new cue, a Grand cue, it's not varnished, but it sticks a little on my bridge hand and squeaks a bit. Does this just go away with time or is there something I can do about it? I've washed it and buffed it up but it hasn't really helped.

I think so, it's been refinished since then but I think it improved with time.
