  • Do they want the work or not?

Trying to get a new joint fitted to a cue.Rang the nearest "cue doctor" - Tony Wilshaw of Stoke..No answer & then number unobtainable.Sent e-mail using the link on website - no reply.Rang B & W Snooker Services Ltd who promised to call me back in 15 minutes - heard nothing.Do these people want to earn a living or are the so inundated with work that they can treat potential customers with such disdain?

In answer to your question yes, most decent cue makers/doctors seem to have a lot of work. You tried Andy Travis or Tony Glover both always seem to respond quickly to emails etc......

I find it bizarre that cue makers and doctors have so much work, when so many are giving up the game on these shores. Unless folk are changing their cues a lot or simply owning lots of cues?

I'd try b and w billiards again. I have recently had a cue shortened and they did an excellent job. Their customer service has always been good for me. Another option might be Johnathan Lonergan, I bought a cue from him recently, nice guy to deal with.

I live in Stoke and Tony Glovers workshop is 41 miles from me , you live in Crewe , A50 about 50 odd miles to Tonys . Andy Travis , Stocksbridge , A530 60 odd miles . Both lads worth a phone call , they are one man bands , but they usually answer the phone , dont forget its bank holiday weekend though . I love Tony Wilshaws work , I have 4 x of his cues , but his repair / refurbishment work is too dear and thats why I use Glovers and the Trav .
