  • which tip is best for masse shots

just wondering if anyone can answer this one i only play uk pool with a 5/16 7.93mm tip for years i used elkmaster tips the last 2 to 3 years i switched to kamui black medium which i find better for most shots side screw you can strike the white so far off centre without miss cue its unreal but i've lost the ability to play masse shots which when playing uk pool can be usefull to get you out of trouble i'm toying with the idea of buying a multi shafted cue so i can switch shafts any one know which tip is best for masse

Not to disrespect your thread in any way but why do you need to do any kind of Masse? In all the years I have played I have NEVER seen anybody use a Masse, it leaves horrible marks on the table and is likely to just damage your tip, plus you look a pillock if you don't get it!

Stick a little rubber thingy on the end of it as the nun said to the vicar...

Seriously I used a little cap thing I got from the bottom of my child's toy I found it just slotted perfectly on the tip of my cue and I could make the ball do a figure of 8 with that on... No damage to the table cloth either ... I lost it sadly and don't play pool anymore where the shot you mean comes into it more than snooker but it is an idea to look for something similar .. If you find something like it let me know ... Always thought it was a good idea...I though of getting one of those little plastic tip protectors and wrapping a lecky band around it somehow.

Get tons of spin protect yer tip and the table cloth Masse for fun

Would need to be on a different cue to your playing cue though, they're terrible for normal play, grip far too much but thats why they're great for masse shots

Is that what Venom uses on his trick videos on youtube? I always wondered how he was able to generate so much action on the cue ball. No way you can do all that with a normal leather tip.

Don't know interesting question - you can do that stuff with a harden rubber tip tho I tried a few.
