Might be the same pics of one I had on my PC last year, before it decided it no longer wanted to work

There was one listed on ebay, probably 2-3 years ago, it was only up for about a day before it was taken off. I think a first edition would fetch nearly £1000 now because there are so few of them around.

cost isnt an issue i really want one to add to my collection, would love to see some pics of one if anyone has any, if anyone knew who had one i would buy it straight away, or trade it for cues.

          rarest cue of them all

The 'French Marquetry' cues are the rarest cues that date back to 1830s.

i think they are not all that rare in general but i guess the finest ones will be rare. i noticed one sell on ebay a couple of years ago for £2k

How are they different to the cues around today, i guess its splicing etc?

yes - there are plenty about. hard to put a value on them though - some sell cheap as chips other do well. personally i can't really tell the difference between them!

You need to be careful with these. They were hardly used in billiards at all after about 1820, but they continued to be made for bagatelle tables up to the 1930s! The ones with the dowel shafts and block heads are the ones to avoid if you are not sure.
