It was one of 2 made, one being one piece, and the other I think a center split.

For a while I had delusions of re-uniting them, then something else took my attention . . .

How can a cue be bad when you have had three at least century breaks with it today, if you missed three total clearances, you must have been at least down to the colours, so how did the devil cue manage that? Unless TCs mean tournament champion and you missed three balls altogether with it.

This is it, I think the chevron is making me miss shots. It can't be me. The balance of the cue and it's chi is really out. I can feel it man, bad energy. Glowey and red; devil ash.

It's not funny. You shouldn't make fun. Some of these cues have bad karma. Me ma said witches lived in trees and the trees warped because of the magic. It wouldn't surprise me if a North American witch lived in the ash tree that made bent grain.

This is really why folk can't get on with cues and have to sell them. It's not the specs, it's the spooks.

I'm thinking about taking it to mass to get it exorcised. A bit of holy water, a lot of smoke and mist, and maybe it will be ok.

@Ace, yeah, maple could be a consideration though I don't want to go crazy and get timber from fruit trees, that's just for fruits.

The grain on of me angel ash cues is bugging me. One of the chevrons isn't perfectly straight. The wood is about 55yrs matured at the moment, having been made in the mid-80s. Does anyone know how I can straighten this chevron out?

Can you post a photograph of the whole cue, to show where this chevron / arrow is please ?

It's at the 25'' mark from the tip out of 58'', so slightly less than half way up.

@ADR, anyone can hack a cue with a blade ya loon. I'm talking about dewarping it. Now has JP got a big steamer or not?

I had this on my old playing cue.

I took it to a mate and showed him, and he instantly knew how to sort it. He rubbed some Vaseline (quite a lot) into the chevron and left it to soak in overnight. The next morning he potted 5 long blues a maximum pace, handed me my cue back and said "have a loot at that pal".

I couldn't believe it, a perfectly straight chevron. Still don't know why it works, but it did!

I suspect Blusts has been vigorously rubbing Vaseline into his shaft in order to straighten it for quite some time now.
