Nearly all Mannock cues were made with a pearwood shaft. There are some maple versions around but you will pay more for those. Pearwood is similar to maple in that it has a no noticable grain, however it usually has a pink colour to it where as maple doesn't really have much colour .

i know a bit about this and have owned maybe 20 of them - most were steamed pearwood yes hence the name antigrip but this one is ash - actually quite a lot of them must of been ash because its not rare to see them. for those that have not seen one this a steamed pearwood cue.

i think the person who owns this cue sent the pearwood to mastercue.

My mannock is pearwood, i have seen a few ash ones aswel andrew, i think they are less common, and i think they usually fetch more money if i remember rightly.

I bought mine for £110 but it need a bit of work doing to it which altogether made the cue cost me about £170 in total, but i would never sell it.
