  • Help needed: Which cuemaker made this cue?

    Hi everyone,

I bought an old cue recently and cannot identify the cuemaker. As the previous owner has passed away I hope that some of the experts here have a clue who built this cue.
It is definitely handspliced and has no joint at the butt end to put extensions on. But it does have an telescopic extensions that can be screwed on the 3/4 shaft.
There are three sticker each with the number 001793 at the butt, at the 3/4 shaft and at the extension.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Markus

What's going on with the badge ? Half in half out and painted blue ??
Take a pic of the joint when it's unscrewed might give a clue

      Thanks for your quick reply!
I forgot to mention that the badge is missing. The joint has some kind of triangular shape.
Here are some pictures of the joint and the butt end:

I have seen these joints discussed on here before but I can't remember who made them, in the back of my head I'm sure they are from a pretty well known maker and as JRC said they are a type of quick release joint that only takes a turn to lock together.

Yes, both of you are right. It is a quick release joint indeed.
I also think it must be from a renowned maker: the look, the feel and the quality of the work make me think so.
            Thanks to both of you!

Is it cue craft that used it ? Had a shallow hole on each joint that you lined up if I remember correctly

It's one of their 'royal standard' line.

used to buy and sell em out of our club

Thanks to everbody involved for identifying the cue!
To be honest I hoped for something even better but I think it's still a decent cue I got at a decent price.
I will contact cue craft to get a replacement badge.

I seen that joint used once in a cue that had its join through the splices, seemed to be ok for keeping the splice points inline. Though it seems to be pretty minimal thread contact considering most of them seem to be filed flat.
