You come on here slating a well known cue maker and respected forum member and act surprised when someone actually states what I'm sure a lot of members are thinking! Can't believe Mr MW himself hasn't told you to to go F yourself( must of been off the booze this weekend ) don't worry I'll not be commenting on your thread again, really can't be arsed.

Once again though thank you for your input in three years and 22 posts.......... I'm sure the forum will be a much better place with your valuable insight.

I find his site interesting, especially the butt splicing part. Most other cuemakers seem to glue the splices on shaped like a wedge, with Mike it goes on shaped as a splice. Bit of a different approach from the rest. Presumably it saves times from planing down a full wedge shape? Or possibly it gives a better guide as to where the points start and end so its a bit easier to even them up? Bit of both maybe, no idea

You get more splices out of a piece of wood if you cut it closer to the end size on the cue. He's been around a long time, no flies on him!

True but when you cut the wood that way you can probably also see measurement markings on the shaft that would be covered with a regular wedge shape.

            Rubbish thread.

I have purchased from Mike and it was 1st class all the way but at the end of the day he tells it like it is and is very much the sort of person that treats you like you treat him, you know that old respect side of things that so many people lack these days??

I got my Cue over 12Mths ago now and am still in contact with Mike via numerous online media sources and his follow up he showed me regarding any questions i had / performance of the Cue etc have been 2nd to none, but i cannot help to think how many idiots contact him that are total time wasters which is why his website is explained in plain words to get straight to the point.

His Cues are what they are and priced accordingly so no use Emailing him and asking for a VCM Cue to be made for 500 quid etc when they are double that + more.

What you will get at the end of the day is a cracking Cue with prompt delivery (even world wide like i got) and fantastic after sales support for whatever you may need.

I cannot recommend MW Cues enough honestly.
If it is called " Common sense " why is it so rare???

I think Muneebsarwar obviously doesn't understand the British sense of humour and our ways!
Mikes straight talking website was one of the reasons I chose to have my cue made by him.
Did you put my "1" up ?

Couldn't have put it better myself; echoes my dealings with him.

Doesn't matter what industry you're in they'll always be some half wit customers, but that's business. Mike deals with them in his own special way :-D not everyone's idea of customer services but it's his business and livelihood so completely up to him.

Mike hits the point straight on to save any dumb questions people are going to contact him about it i guess so if they read his site it cuts out over 40% of time spent replying to questions that are answered on the site even if it is rather blunt but this is what you get!

Mike does not run a big operation and employ 5 odd blokes to help him so just about every Cue he makes you can rest assured Mike has done it from scratch and as we all know it takes time, so the less time replying to dumb questions is more time in the shop actually making Cues and delivering for the people that are genuine and willing to pay for them.

A storm in a glass of water here ?
I have one of Mike's cues, got it in the late 90s and it's a cracker. Never had any issues with his communication, so I do not see what is the problem really. And to be fair, I contacted him to have some alterations done to my cue, but I changed my mind, so I am guilty of wasting his time too, although I will still send it back for service and a mini butt joint when I have the funds.
I am a small business owner too, so I can fully understand it is hard to deal with such things, it's not like he has someone sitting around there just for that purpose.
As for the language used, well, its his direct style I suppose, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Yep my first post said as much- Thread a complete waste of time, if you don't like Mikes tone or way of doing business don't deal with him. Hopefully the OP realises this by now......

                              Always a pleasure

I've always enjoyed Mike's candour. Maybe it's because I'm Canadian (as we are well known world wide for our sense of humour)
The bitter taste of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
