Jimmy took a liking to one of them and bought it. There was quite a big write up in one of the tabloids at the end of 1983 about Jimmy's cue problems where he mentions he just bought one off Alex that he likes (the cue). The journalist mentioned cheekily that £150 was a bit steep considering they were good mates and Jimmy response was "it's a small price to pay if it means getting my game back". Jimmy won nearly £70'000 over the next 5 months with this cue (prize money stat from cue tracker)
