  • Places to buy gear in Ontario, Canada ?

Can anyone recommend a well-stocked store in southwestern Ontario? I'm in the market for a long extension and a case for my 3/4 cue. Yesterday I drove nearly two hours each way to the nearest store, after having called twice to explain what I was after, and was very disappointed. 'Nuff said about that.

I'd prefer to shop in person so I can see, and try, before I buy.

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris from Canada

Billiard Wholesale (could be Wholesale Billiards) in Kitchener generally have everything or they can order anything you might need.

Although I have a long slip-on extension (brand new) here for a reasonable price

      Thanks, Terry,
I tried a couple of slip-ons yesterday. One had a sort of collet arrangement to hold the butt of the cue, but it was too short. The other just slipped on. I tried a stroke with a little pace and the butt moved in the extension. I'm looking for about 26-28" Does the one you have tighten on the butt? I'd PM you, but I am still a Junior Member.

The one I have doesn't tighted on the butt however it does hold the cue tight and I have tried it with a few different cues. It has 4 spring-type things which give way a bit as you slide the cue in. I forget the brand name but it is the most popular type.

Sounds worth a look. What's the length, and what are you asking for it? IIRC, Alma is (or can be) on the way from the Bruce Peninsula to the K-W area.

            telecue extenda ?
            http://www.johnparrottcuesports.com/...nsion-166.html

These are solid and work well, just remember you don't have to tighten the blue collar very much to make it tight on the cue.
Our club goes though many of these because ************ always over-tighten (and over-loosen) so much that the system fails.
Literally a 1/4 or 1/3 turn is enough to loosen and tighten enough.
The only drawback is that the flare does not fit well in many cases.
I have one that I no longer use as I have screw-extensions to fit the butt-joint on my cues

This is definitely a consideration. I'm trying to get the manufacturer of the cue to respond to email. It's a Raid cue, made by Falcon. I would think a screw extension would be more stable, and would fit in a case. I can't identify the joint, though. (Yes, I found a thread with a link to images of joints, but didn't see one quite the same...

If this works, this is my joint. Diameter over the threads is 9mm. Overall length is 19mm.

That's the model I have but I have to apologize as I sold the only new one I had however I have my own here which I use on a rest (rake) when I need a long butt. The John Parrott site has them.
