Is this cue real?

Hey guys, ao i've been offered a phoenix unity from someone, but im a bit apprehensive...

Are they all hand spliced? As this one looks machine spliced. (I'll add a photo). I can only find ones online that are hand spliced.

Just making sure i dont make a mistake!

This is a machine spliced cue. The phoenix range can be hand spliced or machine spliced. Its a genuine cue from what I can see, also I doubt there are any fakes out there, they aren't considered a premium cue brand.

Ah no worries, any idea whether its worth buying then? Do the machine spliced cues have the same reputation as tgr hand spliced cues?

Look on Craftsman Cues website they do a selection of Phoenix Machine spliced cues although Machine spliced they are very good and the shafts are of high quality.

Unity, supreme, master etc, they are just ranges of phoenix cues, each range has a certain amount of splices on the butt end. You are paying for the extra exotic splicings, although the shafts do seem to be slightly better the higher the price range. Craftsman have stocked all of these in machine and hand spliced versions at one time or another. Have no fears its a genuine cue, probably cost around £120 new.

Not considered a premium cue brand agreed but anyone who's own one will tell the the quality of ther cues is top notch with some of the nicest looking ash in the business with great splice work. The only thing that might put people off is that they use a lacquer finish on the butt with brings out the exotic woods more and quite like the feel too if I'm honest. This can be easily taken off though so not a problem.
