  • Time for a new cue

Hi all, very new to the forum but I am loving all the readily available advice and information!

I'm looking to buy a new cue, have only been playing snooker properly in the past year and am very average skill wise but thought it's time to treat myself to a cue a little better than the current cheapo Riley one I have.

Can anyone tell me how much of a difference there are between peradon and maximus. I was looking at get a peradon cue around the £180 mark as I know they're made in England. However I noticed a lot of people say good things about the Thai maximus cues. I have looked on greenblaize and there are some nice legend/legend plus cues for £280. Are they worth the extra hard earned?

Any help grateful (unfortunately live in the southeast and don't know of any places to go and try out cues first hand). Thanks!
    Liam

Frank Sandell http://www.franksandellcuesport.co.uk/ can't be far from you. He will have a selection of cues to try and you can also get some coaching at the same time.

If not I would go with a Maximus from Green baize. Give Stu a ring as he is very helpful and will talk through your options

Thanks for your reply. I'll look into that website. I have to be honest I am reading good things about Maximus cues.
Would like to know if anyone has had any experiences with Peradon cues?
Thanks for the heads up about ringing stu, I probably will go ahead with that. Stuart I am assuming?

Hi. Jarvis. I am in Worthing which by car is about 1 1/2 hours from you. You can try cues in complete privacy. Let me have your number by e.mail from my site and I will call and advise you. F.

Hi all, thanks for all the suggestions. In the end I got in contact with Stu at green baize. He was very helpful and honest.
I have ordered a 3/4 Maximus Legend cue with some extra goodies. It arrives Monday so I'll be sure to post a few pics if I can figure out how.
