  • The Lindrum Monarch Cue

I am researching the Lindrum Monarch cue. Does anyone have any information or a photo of their cue to share?
I am lucky enough to have 2 Monarchs, one I purchased a couple of years ago and one recently. Both cues are in really nice original condition, one is Maple and the one purchsed recently is Ash.
The ash cue is different having a "full" badge with "Australia" at the bottom. I have never seen that before. This cue also has a reasonable amount of gold leaf in the badge. (I didn't even know they had the gold leaf), in 40 years of collecting, this is the only one I have ever seen with the gold. But then i have only ever seen 3 or 4 versions.
It seems Peradon in their wisdom, normally linnished the Australia away from the badge from new. I am not sure why and maybe someone will will know.
Any help would be greatlt appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Graham Waddingham.
    Melbourne, Australia.
I tried to add photos but it does not work for me!!!!

Use a site like photobucket and copy the IMG code (not the URL) into your TSF post to display your photos
The TSF Attachment feature is notoriously fickle and difficult to manage.

There is a Lindrum Monarch cue, a black badge with gold lettering (similar to the Lindrum Special Cue).
Most probably made by Peradon early/md 1930s.
Andy Hunter stays that it came in ebony and rosewood butts.

        Hi Dean,
The Special is a little different as it does not have a badge as such, the letters appear to be engraved directly into the butt and gold leaf is applied.
Andy is correct, the Monarch came with an ebony and Rosewood butt and is almost identical to the Nonpareil also made by Peradon around the early 30's.
It is a very attractive cue but then, I am yet to see an ugly cue, just different ones.

Here are the photos from Graham.
My thoughts are that the "Australia" was either added by Peradon to ship to the Antipodes; or once shipped it was added by the outlet.
