1 pc to 3/4 advice

Don't do it - buy another cue - it will ruin the balance and the feel if you like what you have why risk it?

Life is all about risks! I've just found it impractical. I'm a 30 break player at best so can't damage my game that much!

lol ok see your point. I might be arguing with myself here but it can also improve it too - I had one done I did not like once to use for pool and it improved the balance of the cue made it more forward balanced and actually ended up liking it ... so can work both ways but this was a pure fluke - you said you loved this cue to start with as it is - which is why I express a little concern for you - hard to find a cue you really like sometimes.

Again though I would say don't do it - if you really want to get another 3/4 cue instead.

And Steve Davis changed back to a one piece - snooker players had a fad in the 80's of getting cues jointed. Same as the fad with the over hanging tips.... just a fad - if you like something is it really worth the risk?

Davis went back to a 1 piece for a very short time then went back to his 3/4 cue, after a while he returned to his original cue that was jointed then again changed to a 20oz 3/4 cue before going back to his original again. In his career he's used cues with a joint in them overall far longer than a cue without.

Before you send your cue off have you thought about contacting Mike Wooldridge? His F1 joint is superb imo ? Also he makes top quality extentions.

Hi all .. So, I promised a review..

Thank you to whoever it was who mentioned Andy Travis. Spoke to Andy, told him what I wanted doing and also my concerns etc. Andy was extremely helpful and promised me a good job. So, I went for it.

The work was done in just over 24 hours. As promised, he ensured the balance point stayed the same as well as the weight. He even shortened the cue to take out the difference (plus a little more following a late request). I got the cue back yesterday and..

Wow! His work is of the highest quality. The weight and feel etc are of bang on and I do not regret the decision one bit. Appreciate there are doubters and I was one of them - just shows if you find the right craftsman who loves and takes pride in what he does rest assured you will get the best possible outcome!

If you want to go from one piece to 3/4 or have any work done, honestly, I cannot recommend Andy enough. Top bloke!!
