  • New cue advise

Hi. I'm currently using a Tiger cue from Warrington and thinking of upgrading and buying a new.

    Budget of 250-350.

Can people please give me their opinion on what's best out there at that price range.

Tried a friends Maximus and it felt great.

    Thanks
Maximus Legend Plus : Ebony butt with Ovangkol front wedge and thick maple veneer : Premium ash shaft : Tip 9.45 mm Talisman Trinity Soft, length 58″, weight 18.4 oz, butt diameter 29.4 mm, balance 18″

Maximus is a good cue, as well as Ton Praram

Have you looked at Green Baize Ltd website, Stu has a few (just a few ) cues in your budget and he is very experienced at chatting with people and their needs and making recommended selection, etc.

Many have done this and loved his selection

Let us know how you get on

I've been chatting to him over the weekend. I've picked 3 and he's gonna send some pictures of them side by side. So i can see grain. Chevrons etc

Very helpful guy. Would love to go visit but it's a 6hr round trip. Does he offer a return policy if you don't get on with the cue?

Seen a couple of Parris cues going on ebay recently for the 350 mark. Would you guys go for 2nd hand Parris over a Maximus?

I don't think any seller anywhere does that I'm afraid, that's why if you can it would be best to make the trip to actually try out the cues

Why a 2nd hand Parris? They start sub £350 new to your own specs unless they've gone up.
I don't think there's much wait on their standard cues either.
The advantage of a JP/TW cue is you get back what you paid, expect to lose at least 20% with an off the shelf type cue.

I think Stu does allow a cue to be returned, although the customer losses the postage cost of sending it out in the first place and also covers the cost of postage for the return

JP has cues in the shop waiting to go out the door, only the custom order cues (Ultimate/Paragon/Special/etc) have waiting lists.
