  • Cleaning Cue

Hi, i was looking for advice regarding cleaning products for a snooker cue, my cue shaft is nearly pure green from chalk, tried microfibre cloths removes a small bit, but the green colour is still very noticeable. Any ideas? Cheers

I put a very small spot of white spirit on the cloth first, not enough to wet the cue though.

Not joking, baby wipes are brilliant to take off the grimy residual.

These things clean almost everything (including Sealant etc from fingers). I dread to think what is in them and why they are used on babies' faces!!!

I used those anti bacterial toilet wipes, because they were there did the trick though. Not sure if it's the recommended method, but alcohol based wipes should be OK.

I'd think they'd be cheaper, baby wipes have to be nice to a baby's bum, these things don't.

I've tried that by the past but i prefer a wet sponge and dry it immediatly.

                          The baby wipes are great.

I was a little concerned so used them on a few babies before taking a chance on my cue. I'm glad to say the cue shaft is now great!

                            Shame about the baby though?

They worked great, the cue was nearly pure green, got 99% of it off, baby wipes
Only problem now, i notice the varnish finish is all faded on top half of the shaft, any way to restore that? Is there a light kind of varnish spray i could put on?
