I'm looking for the price range of $100 - $250 max

Why not ask a supplier , such as Schmelke , who makes their own shafts to make a snooker taper i.e. conical or European taper , shaft for you . Have it made to suit whatever pin size and joint is on the butt of your 9 ball cue , presuming that you have one. You then have a cue for both 9 ball and snooker , if thats what you are looking for . Just a thought .

My understanding is that Omin were a reasonable outfit, but seemed to have sold the name and everyone and their Uncles are making them now - have a look on Alibaba, there are LOADS of them....

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/grandcues/ are more than reasonable, I have one which I really like and they have a thread with no\few complaints.

The one thing I would say is that the finish was far too thick for me, so a load of Fine Sandpaper and some Wax\Oil may be needed with some elbow grease....

My friend , why people in U.S ?? ( assuming you're referring to people from united states ? ).

is it cuz of shipping cost??

I think if you ask from people in UK ( TSF included ) . they may be able to point you in the right direction.
You may be better off by paying an extra tenner for shipping cost in order to get sumthing decent ??

For that kind of budget i would go for Master cues , btw .
