Had a hornbeam cue and it played lovely but didn't get it back from an ex....
Thing is, it's a hard one to keep straight over time..

Agreed , but rap it on the table or diss it and like " the luggage " it will bite back. On a more serious note Birdseye Maple , Hornbeam , Alisier , Service tree wood ( looks like Pear ) , Hickory and Pear are all shaft woods I have tried along with the more " normal " Ash and Maple . A chap on this forum used Lacewood once , very pretty and I do know someone who has a Cherry wood cue , really beautiful cue , very smooth shaft indeed . p.s. Adam I still have that Hickory No 5 and also a one piece Hickory as well , agree about the taper , still love the cue .

I have a hankering to try a pearwood after holding an old lads Mannock anti grip pearwood shaft cue, kind of pink tinge to it, extremely smooth. He did tell me he only used it for the billiards and had another cue for snooker, so I don't know if it was to whippy, which you can get away with in billiards. I have read others say these can be difficult to keep straight as well but his was spot on.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Yes that's the one and it's the same cue on my pic on here but will not be very clear.

There use to be lots of choice for cue shafts but things changed over the year's for some reason...
