Elkmaster cue tip. Looks in kind of shape already. Cue Tip Press needed?

I purchased Elkmaster cue tip. They look like they're in a good shape already (other than some slight sand paper needed areas).
However, most Youtube videos show the usage of cue tip press, which makes you make the cue tip shape "all over again".

Since my order of cue-tip press has not arrived yet, can i just put this on and play? (with little bit of sand paper use)

Tip presses are a relatively new thing, they are NOT required, I don't anybody who uses one so go ahead and play
