John Parris Ultimate age

Hi could anyone help me with working out the age of my John Parris Ultimate cue.
I bought the cue second hand around 20 years ago.
The badge does not have a number on it so if anyone knows when he started numbering them that would help.
It is a 3/4 cue and has a butt extension that you swap with the normal butt

From what I have seen I believe JP started the Ultimate cues approximately 1995-97, he started the numbered and un-numbered about the same time - maybe the un-numbered slightly earlier before he decided to get numbered badges made and there is an overlap as he used up the old batch of badges
I did read somewhere that there could be about 30 un-numbered JPUs, BUT not seen anything definitive though.

Yes just at the end of rounded end of the splice

as you may know, this does not mean anything other than a certain time period when it was made when JP used a type of glue - and nothing more

The red glue was used from very early in JP's career up till about 2007-9.
He did use other types of glue during this period as well.
But, some people think a red glue cue means one or all of many things:
1. John Parris definitely made the cue himself.
2. The cue is rare.
3. The cue is very old.
4. The cue will make you a "century player overnight".

None of the above are absolutely true - to be clear I made #4 up

Remember the guy who used to flog top end cues on here with a statement very similar. I can't remember his name but he used to charge a bomb for them and obviously sold a few, probably into China.

yep that could be Fedia (as he was known on TSF and ebay) and has had several other names on ebay (Ultimate147 was one) and he does bloat the price greatly, as to whether he sold ANY is in doubt

This cue is from about 93-94 I think.
