We've had cue raffles in the past, which were quite popular, similar principle I suppose. And someone negotiated a deal for bulk buying Thai cues built to spec if I remember rightly. I think the raffles were for Fred, but I have a vague recollection of a regular raffle that was going to be set up, with a deal being struck with a maker for a custom cue, you would just have to pay extra for anything exotic.
No one is listening until you make a mistake!

        Good old Fred bless him!

i agree it could be a good idea in theory but making it actually happen could be quite tricky, could cause a few fall outs!

I'm not going to spend or give this idea too much input as it's not my idea; but here goes...
          1. A list of rules need to be formatted and agreed by all members. A member is an individual that has signed up and agrees to adhere by the rules.
          2. All members MUST have made the weekly / monthly contribution by a cut off date e.g. Friday 8PM - otherwise this member is on catch up and forfeits the right to obtain any of the funds.
          3. THE RETAILER - He or she agrees that any monies received from this enterprise will be subject to a 4 week cooling off point.
If e.g. member A, gains access to funds but then stops weekly / monthly contributions, then the money is returned to the funding group upon which member A is removed from the group and his or her reputation is tarnished for good.
          4. NOT sure how the cue would be returned in the example of point 3 - but that's the headache for someone else.
          ---
Perhaps all members have to sign a mutual agreement which also includes their personal details of full name, address and telephone numbers.
Postal checks should be made by sending out mutual agreement to this address that should be returned with an itemised bill and bank statement.
ALL documents should be returned to each member. And no membership is valid without these confirmed documents. All documents are photocopied for record keeping.
          ---
I get the feeling this could become a very sticky mess... :snooker:

I believe Muslims do this as well, kind of a round robin payout system.
