  • i might need some help with a cue plz

    first of all:

    hello there!

i´m new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself.
so...i´m from munich/germany (yes, the oktoberfest ) and i have played carambolage billiard for 16 years. since i am quite new to snooker and living in germany i got a big problem getting a snooker cue...
i have to order it through the internet anyway so i thought, i could buy an adam cue (i played an adam carambolage cue for 14 years, it was perfect).
    now i am looking for a 9mm tip, 3/4 cue; weight: 17-17.5

i´d be grateful, if anyone took a look at it and passed me his opinion:

    http://www.craftsmancues.com/acatalog/Adam_Cues.html
(the adam #07 hand spliced cue)

    as for the background:

i´m a student and somewhat not able to pay a lot more than 110 pound (165€) and since i´m living in germany a custom made cue is also out of the question for me since you wont get a decend one in the internet, i guess...

    thanks for the help,

    elm

    Hi Elm,

I can't say I've got much experience with the current Adam cues, but, if the cue is of the sort of specs you're after, then at least it should feel comfortable when you're on the table.

What the build quality or finish is like on the cue I couldn't say, though if you asked Dave or Simon at Craftsman whether the quality is on par with the cues they build themselves, you'd have a good deal in my opinion.

    Good luck in your search..

      thx a lot trevs1!

point is, i read a lot about the cues you make and i believe they are phantastic.
normally i´d say: ok, i´ll buy one that fits me for the rest of my life - so be shure to have a cup of tea ready, when i visit you from germany - BUT at my current "student situation" i can´t afford it.
not to forget: i´m not experienced enough to have a custom cue done.

i hear a lot about adams quality going down and stuff like this so i´m a bit unsure right now.
your comment is helping me a lot, thx. i think now i know its not total crap.
and i understand, that this is a hard question, but what cue (round about 17-17.5; 9mm, 3/4) would you recomment for 110 - 150 pound?

        Hi Elm,

I've read your post and if you have around 110£ to spend, you can easily have a custom made one at Craftsman! That's what I did in February when I ordered mine (a Panther, 120£, with my specs).

Email Simon @ Craftsman, he'll give you all the infos you want.

        Regards,

thx a lot for the help.
          that really sounds interesting!
so i guess it might make more sense to have a custom cue made then.
